Social Media Follow Me Buttons (code for text widget)

    I am having a lot of difficulty in adding social media (follow me) buttons to my wordpress site. I have no problem finding various codes on the internet, but am finding it extremely difficult to successfully paste the code into the text widget and getting it to actually work.

    After some help on this forum (another user very kindly gave me a google plus code) I managed to put up a functional google plus follow me button on my site by pasting it into a text widget, however, I still haven’t been able to add twitter.

    Does anyone have the correct code for twitter?

    Also for other codes, any ideas on what I could be doing wrong? In other words, I’m getting these codes from the internet and pasting them into the text widget. So far one google plus button works but more often than not the code doesn’t work. What I’m not understanding is how did I get it right for the google plus button but I can’t seem to get other codes to work.

    Hi there,
    Without seeing the exact codes you refer to we cannot help. What I can tell you is that we cannot post any JavaScript codes as the software will strip them out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. You capture an image of a social networking icon and upload it and link it to your profile page on that specific social media site. Then you display the code in your sidebar in a text widget.
