  How do I install a twitter, pinterest and linkedin icon to my header? I just want the icon that links directly to my page in a new window.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Mary,

  Currently, the McKinley theme does not support social media icons within the header. The theme also doesn’t support sidebar widgets, so the only current option would be to place them in the footer of your blog. Here are the options broken down going forward:

  1. 1. You could install the social media icons in the footer of your blog following the instructions here:

     http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/create-your-own-widget/#creating-your-own-widget

     You will just need to select the social media icons you would like and follow the instructions above.

  2. You could opt to go with a new theme. For example, the Highwind theme (free) includes a sidebar for widgets so you could install your social media icons there:

     http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/highwind/
