Social Media Icons: Linkedin URL incorrect format
-
The URL generated by the Social Media Icons widget for Linkedin adds an additional “/in” in the URL. Thus doesn’t work for a user’s account. Using Gateway theme.
Same problem, this thread discusses: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/linkedin-url-format-is-incorrect-and-so-doesnt-link
Is this going to be fixed? I believe this is a wordpress.com issue and not the theme?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is specific to the theme, not WordPress.com The majority of LinkedIn profile pages are set up as linkedin.com/in/{username} when you customize them; for example, mine is http://linkedin.com/in/ariwinokur.
I have tagged this thread so that it can be addressed by a staff member and be moved to the themes support forum. Please make sure you are subscribed to this thread so that you know when the staff member responds. You can subscribe by clicking the “Subscribe to Topic” link on the right.

Hi there,
Have you customized your LinkedIn profile URL with the guide ariwinokur mentioned? That will set you up with a LinkedIn URL like http://www.linkedin.com/in/yourname, which is the format the social media icons widget uses.
