social media icons not showing on sidebar
-
I’m trying to add a few social media icons to the sidebar of my site, but when I add them via the customizer, all the sidebar shows is empty gray spaces where the icons would go.

My theme is Ixion.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, Thanks for sharing a screenshot. Are you using the “Social Icons Block” to do this?

Thanks for clarifying.
I’ve gone ahead and flagged your thread for Staff attention. Thanks for your patience while they get back to you.

Hey there @mlbugoutblog, they’ll need links to display properly, and I can’t tell what’s going wrong with that. Can you try this?
- From customize > widgets > sidebar, click on your tumblr icon.
- You should be prompted to enter a link to your tumblr blog — do that
- Does it show up on the right side then, and can you save it?
- Repeat with the other links
If that isn’t working, would you mind sharing those links here so we can test from our side?
-
I attempted to enter the link to the tumblr blog but there was no space where I could do that or a button I could press + I checked more settings and there wasn’t anything there either. Nothing showed up on the right side. I only intend on linking my tumblr blog; the other buttons were just to see if it was a tumblr-specific issue.
I can share the link to the tumblr blog: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/bugoutreviewgirlie

Hi there,
I visited your site and it seems the social icon for Tumblr is now linking to your Tumblr blog. Were you able to sort this out on your own, or did you need a hand still?

I worked it out! I just had to click on the icons themselves, not the extended button space. Thank you!
