Social Media Images

    When I share posts from my website — babylibrarians.com — on Facebook or Twitter, no images show. I set featured images, the images are at least 200 x 200, and the width is never 3 times as large. I use Lovecraft as my theme. Any suggestions as to what I need to do to fix this? Thank you!

    Your site babylibrarians.com is not hosted by us (WordPress.com). It is using the self-hosted version of WordPress and it is hosted by NameCheap.

    We’re only able to provide support for WordPress websites that are hosted by us. For help with a self-hosted WordPress site you need to ask over at the WordPress.org forums:

    Hi –

    It looks like that site is running on the WordPress installation rather than WordPress.com. I am still going to try and help – but am limited with what I can do since we don’t have access to your site.

    In general, help with the WordPress installation comes from the community at wordpress.org/support/

    Here’s what I’ve done so far –

    I used the Facebook debugging tool and ran the most recent post link through there: https://babylibrarians.com/rapunzel-by-chloe-perkins/

    Typically this does the trick. But, still no images are populating in the card preview. I tested sharing the link manually on my own FB profile but still, there aren’t any thumbnail images shown.

    I tried again with https://babylibrarians.com/little-owls-night-book-review/ and had the same results.

    Are you using a custom post template? Another idea is to do a test post, and let FB pull in the first image from the post rather then assigning a featured image, and see if that works.

    You can always contact the theme author for support as well. Typically there are very specific specs of the size a featured image should be listed in the set up. Bottom left hand corner there are some contact details: http://www.andersnoren.se/teman/lovecraft-wordpress-theme/

    Thanks for the help! I am not using a custom template, I’ve tried it without a featured image and it still doesn’t pull any images for the thumbnail. I’ll try contacting the theme author and wordpress.org. Thank you for your help!
