social media not pulling through images on Cubic theme

    I’m using the Cubic theme. When people share my site on Facebook (the actual site, not individual posts) it loads without a thumbnail. Why is this and what can I do to make it load with an image?

    Hi,

    When you’ve corrected an error or changed an article headline, or when an image is uploaded, it takes Facebook a while to display that new information.

    If you don’t clear the cache, the headline / photo / lack of image at the time of publish will continue to travel on social, until Facebook crawls your site again.

    I just cleared the Facebook cache and the new site title and image have now been picked up by Facebook. To clear the Facebook cache, you go to https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/

    Try again and let me know if it’s correct now.

    Hi Dorothy! Thabo gave you some great advice on updating the sharing thumbnail for individual posts and pages.

    When people share my site on Facebook (the actual site, not individual posts) it loads without a thumbnail.

    To make sure the site as a whole (main URL) has a sharing thumbnail image that you specify, I suggest adding a Site Icon to your site:

    Add a Site Icon

    Currently, Facebook is picking up the featured image of the newest post on your site, “About The Shine Project.”

    If you upload that same image as your Site Icon, it should always be used by Facebook when sharing your base URL. (theshineprojectsa.wordpress.com)
