Social menu widget NEVER shows
-
I created a new blog and I have tried several themes (Rockfield & Colinear). In the customization I added the social menu widget which in Rockfield appears as footer and in Colinear on right sidebar.
The problem being that in design mode any changes I make to the social menu are visible as I design/customize the site. If I change the visibility setting it reflects my changes in the design window. However, on a different browser I have opened it to see how it looks and the social menu widget NEVER shows! I even tried changing the Visibility settings to no avail. This is quite frustrating because instead of advancing to customize the rest of the blog, I am spending time trying to get this to show.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t see it anywhere in the site you’ve listed, not even in the menu or widget settings.
Please add it where you’d like it to display, and we’ll go from there.

Well, that is exactly the point. It shows as I edit/customize the page but it NEVER shows in the published page. I just tried adding the “WordPress follow my blog” widget in the Footer and same problem! while it appears to show in customization mode, it doesn’t show in the live version no matter what I do.
The visibility setting of that widget is set to SHOW if PAGE is FRONT PAGE. It is displaying the front page but the widget never shows. Happened with both themes I tried.

The only widget that actually shows on both the customizer AND the live version is the Text widget and the Custom HTML widget. I tried adding them on Footers (several) and Sidebar to no avail.

I’m showing you have the Social Menu Widget currently set in your Footer 3 section of the site and it’s showing properly on the homepage with the visibility settings set: https://d.pr/i/V3LtFT
You can also see the Follow Blog widget in that same screenshot.
I also see you have it set in your Sidebar Right section: https://d.pr/i/tdLxC1
The one in Sidebar Right doesn’t have the visibility settings set, so it is showing on all pages – but the one in Footer 3 does not show anywhere other than the homepage.
It sounds like you might have some browser caching enabled which is not showing your changes once you save them because they all show for me.
If you’re still having this problem, please take a screenshot of the problem in question. If you’re not familiar on how to take a screenshot, this support document will help explain how to make one:
Then, use a service like Snipboard.io to upload the screenshot and then share the image link from that service here and we’ll take a closer look. Or you can upload the images to your media library and we can take a look there.
Thanks!

Thanks for the extra info helper-heroponriki, since it shows on YOUR side and not on mine I questioned another thing… I am creating and editing with Brave browser (based on Chrome) BUT I was looking at the LIVE version in Microsoft Edge.
Hinted by your observation, I went on to try the LIVE page on a new instance of Brave (this time PRIVATE window so that it doesn’t see my open session) and there it actually shows!
So, the conclusion being that they do NOT show if you use a Microsoft Edge (v90.0.818.56). I am using Windows 10 x64. Edge is therefore not compatible.
