Social Plugin Add On

I’m sure I’m not wording this right and I’m not sure how to. I know there are plugins that will show social media stuff on my blog from social media sites, and I know I can turn my entire blog into a social site (though I’ve failed time and time again), but I was wondering if there’s a plugin that maybe I can add in the sidebar or in a widget area or put on a separate page all together that will give me the ability to post quick posts like Twitter or whatever that is separate from a blog post.

Why does my site need to be known? Does what I’m asking for depend on that? Are there plugins that only work on certain blogs? Only curious. And yes, I know the difference between .com and .org.

The main reason we’re asking is that this forum is oriented towards answering questions for sites that are hosted here on WordPress.com; since WordPress.org sites aren’t connected to our system here we simply can’t provide accurate advice for them. If the site that you’re asking about is a WordPress.org site, then we’re very limited in what we can suggest.
As it is, we’re not especially aware of any plugins which do what you’re mentioning here, with adding a quick post from the sidebar (either as a blog post, or to an external social media site like Twitter) – they may well exist, but we’ve got no guarantee that they’d do what you need.
We do have our own P2 blog, which has a front-end editor; but that may not be what you’re looking for:

Ok, thanks for the explanation, but as I’ve said, it is a .com. The P2 doesn’t make sense to me. It looks and acts like a blog, so how is it different from a blog?
I wouldn’t want to make a post to an external site. It might be able to be shared to one from the blog, but I’d want to just post it on the blog to wherever I had it set up. The sidebar was just a thought.
With one blog, I used to do that but with a basic paragraph block, and I’d just update it through the editor. I guess I’ll do that again.
But yeah, P2 isn’t what I’m talking about. I wonder how hard it would be to develop something like what I’m thinking. I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to do it lol. Thanks anyway!
