  • Hi,

I’ve checked the connections of both of your WordPress.com sites at:

And none of them are currently connected to Facebook.

You can read how to manage those connections to post automatically to social media here:

Set Up Jetpack Social To connect your site to your social networks, take the following steps: Visit your site’s dashboard. In the left side options, navigate to

    Hope this helps!

I just checked out the link you shared with me. I have read through this before and followed the steps. I would like to privately share a screenshot of what pops up when I try to connect my accounts so that you may assist me. How can I do this?

  • Hey there,

You can share an image here and blur out or redact any private information in the screenshot, or reach out to us by email to share the image privately.

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to me. Please see below screenshot of what happens when I try to connect my site to facebook. It connects to the wrong facebook account and there isn’t an option to choose a different account.

Could you try resetting your Social connection for Facebook as well? Please make sure to follow the steps to delete the app association on Facebook before reconnecting from your Dashboard. You can find the instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/post-automatically-to-social-media/#reconnect-facebook.

Once you’ve re-established the connection, let us know if the issue persists, and we’ll be glad to investigate further.

Thank you for getting back to me. I disconnected now from within Facebook but it still doesn’t give me the option to connect to a different Facebook account – please see attached.

Thank you for confirming. What I’m unclear about is what occurred after you granted permission for the connection to Facebook. Following the “allow activity” step, the subsequent screen should display the available accounts to connect to.

Could you please let us know what you observe after the “allow activity” step? If you’re still unable to locate the page you’re attempting to connect to, kindly provide links to the pages you wish to connect, and we’ll be better equipped to offer assistance.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Thank you for your input. When I click on connect, it automatically goes to the same Facebook account that I don’t want to connect to and doesn’t give me any other options. Please see screenshots.

The account that I’m trying to connect to is: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556794954925&mibextid=ZbWKwL

    Thank you for your assistance.

Thank you for the extra details! The problem is that you’re trying to connect to a Personal Profile, which is not permitted by their policies. Consequently, automatic sharing to that account won’t be possible. However, you can still use sharing buttons or manually share posts to that Facebook account if you prefer.

I hope this explanation clears things up! Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or require assistance with anything else.

Thank you for this explanation but I’m not sure if I understand. The account that it is connecting to is a personal profile. Why is it connecting to that personal profile? Surely there should be an option to enter another, any other, Facebook account to connect with? When I try to connect my blog, there is nowhere to try to connect it to another Facebook account. I didn’t even get as far as entering the other Facebook account info because there was no option.

  • Hey @vzylau002,

It sounds like Facebook is trying to connect to the account you are currently signed into. Try opening Facebook in the browser and then signing out. This way, when you go to connect a Facebook account, it will prompt you to sign in, and you can choose the account you wish to sign in to and connect.

    Hope this helps!
