Soho Theme portfolio feature background image (want simplified)
-
Hi! I have a question about some of my page details. If you click on one of my portfolios, the background of the portfolio is a large photo of the images in my portfolio. I find it distracting and ideally, I would like it to just be white in the background. Is there a way to make this happen? Here is an example: https://lilywilliamsart.com/portfolio/house-rabbit-society/
I was told that if I took the featured image away then then this would go away. But I need the featured image for my home page. It helps people see what portfolio they are clicking on.
I would like to suppress the background image on the portfolio itself so that the look is clean and white and highlights the art in question in the portfolio.
This is far beyond my comprehension. I am not a coder, nor do I understand the process very well.
Thank you in advance for your help!
(follow up questions that I am also trying to solve: 1) is there a way to put the arrows on the bottom on the top? 2) what are the portfolio home page dimensions so I can make my featured image the same in a unified way. Because the sizing is unified on the home page, but t hen the portfolios in the “illustration” or “books” section are not unified.)
Thank you!

Hi, add the following to your custom CSS to remove the large image in the background of single portfolio pages in Soho.
body.single-jetpack-portfolio #maximage { display: none !important; }It looks like you have gotten the image removed on the main page (portfolio) of your site.
For the post navigation on single portfolio pages, we can move it up below the portfolio title with the following.
single-jetpack-portfolio .entry { position: relative; padding-top: 50px; } .single-jetpack-portfolio .post-navigation { position: absolute; top: 0; }On the widths for the content area on different types of pages, that is hard to give you an actual number. Soho widths on the main elements are set in percentages of the overall screen/window width, so the actual width varies with the window width.
On the Soho Theme Showcase page, if you scroll down to the Quick Specs section at the bottom, it gives suggested minimum sizes for the images.

Thank you so much!! All of this is really helpful.
One thing is that on the home page, if I click a portfolio, the arrows say to go backwards. I am worried visitors will not intuit how to do that. Is this a problem? (example: go to my home page, click the first portfolio and see it says “back arrow”)

Hi, I’m not seeing any “go backwards” when I click through to the first portfolio on your main page, I just see the arrow pointing to the left.

Yes after playing with it, it appears fine. Thank you for all of your help.
I have a few more questions and I started a new thread here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/soho-theme-portfolio-text-looks-clustered?replies=1#post-2732090
