    This domain name has a wordpress created account was created by our IT manager on a self hosting platform, sadly he died suddenly. I have managed to get access to the hosting user account on 1 and 1 and can access the data through Filezilla, however not sure how to edit the site, will I need to install a stand alone wordpress program to edit and create new content, how do I do this and where should I go next. Not IT myself but fairly savvy with website editing etc.

    You’ve set up a new account/site here at WordPress.com to ask in the WordPress.com forums. Alas, staff here have no access to 1 & 1s servers which is where you say that site is hosted using the WordPress.org software. You’ll need to approach : https://wordpress.org/support/
