Some good photo blog themes with 1 picture per page

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
I have a photo blog (http://pacork.wordpress.com) using Monotone. What’s essential for me is just 1 picture per page.
but there’s a few things I’d like to change-
    1. in the top navigation to be able to include more options- ‘random picture’ etc.
That might about be it but MAYBE also the option to include widgets.

As far as I know with Monotone I can’t implement any of these changes.
Can anyone give me a list of some recommended photo themes (spotless- http://fivebyfive.com.ar/wp-themes/spotless/ looks nice but I can’t view the demo due to some broken links).
    thanks,
    Patrick.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

In wp.COM you can only select on of the (currenty) 73 themes available under Appearance>Themes.

You can have “1 picture per page” in any one of them.

    Hi Panaghistisadam,
I tried changing to a different theme but then all my pics are just displayed in 1 column on 1 page.
How do I change this, I’ve tried looking in apperance, settings etc.

Do most people use Monotone for photo blogs?

    Thanks,
    Patrick

dashboard > settings > reading > “Blog pages show at most” and fill in the box with 1
    save changes

Monotone is very popular for photoblogs, but in the Off Topic forum there’s a whole thread of art and photography blogs that use all different kinds of themes. Hemingway is gorgeous, but not everyone likes it.

Thanks for the quick reply….I didn’t even know what ‘reading’ was, never thought it could be in there.

It seems that Monotone is almost exactly what I want, expect for 1 or 2 small things. The pages changing colours is great (of course), as too is the previous, next BUT I think that ‘random’ is vital for people browsing pictures and widgets for categories…..

How do you change the colors? Because I also like it, but can’t seem to find where to customize the colors.

@miamivogue: Please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here – or link your nickname to your blog as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know. We usually need that to give a relevant answer.

In monotone colors change automatically, depending on the displayed image.
