some js keeps reloading css indefinitely

Some javascript from wp.com keeps reloading stylesheet(s) indefinitely, bringing my browser to max CPU consumption.

Seems to be independent from the website’s frontend: I experience this with my backend on wordpress.com (eclamus.wordpress.com) as well as in other websites’ frontend (e.g. http://www.artsjournal.com/slippeddisc/).

Switching js from wp.com on/off via NoScript produces/removes the behaviour.

Error console warnings move with > 10 messages per second. After the initial assorted collection, it only complains about ‘min–moz-device-pixel-ratio’ after some time, keeping up the speed. So I’d say it’s > 10 stylesheet reloads per second; a little more than needed.

Problem is extreme on (old) stats page – browser won’t almost move. This might be misleading and just caused by the higher number of scripts on that page.

I didn’t experience the problem some weeks ago.

I’m running Firefox 3.6.17 on Ubuntu 8.04 – yes I know, it’s not a new system. On the other hand, You can be sure there weren’t changes on my side ;-)

Cookies, NoScript, Adblock – all allowed/disabled to check things out. That’s how I could narrow it to wp.com as source of the problem script.

I’d guess there has been an update recently which brought this in; would that assumption make sense?

I somehow can’t imagine that nobody else had this problem yet, but I didn’t find anything when searching the forums.

Could you please upgrade your browser to the latest version (Firefox 14.0.1)?
