some of my photos are disappearing after some time. What do I wrong?

    some of my photos are not displayed while during uploading the photo all went well. After some time some images are not displayed anymore. In some cases there are 6 photos behind each other that are not displayed anymore. How is that possible.
    They are all checked when I put them on WordPress and now they are gone.

    How is that possible or what do I wrong?

    Where are these missing images hosted?
    Are they on WordPress.com servers and displaying in your Media Library? If you deleted them you must upload them again.
    Are they hosted at an image hosting service like Flickr that allows hotlinking?
    Are you hotlinking to images that you are not allowed to hotlink to?
