Some posts will not edit or delete

  I am unable to edit or delete some (but not all) of the pages on my site. If I try to edit one of these posts in any way (change the parent, edit the content, etc) it ‘saves’ but does not actually change anything. If I try to delete the page, it does not go to the trash but it adds “__trashed” to the end of the permalink and the page stays live. The problem does not occur for other sites on the server and does not even occur for all pages on the site. I have tried multiple browsers and cleared my cache. I am not using a caching plugin on the site.
