Some questions about wordpress premium plans

    Hey all,

I had some questions about wordpress premium plans please:

1.) Are premium plans at the site or user level? Eg. if I want to set up 2 wordpress sites, do I need a premium plan for each?

2.) Are there any discounts for premium themes or plans if using them on multiple sites?

3.) If I get a premium plan am I forced to use a custom domain or can I still use the wordpress.com extension?

4.) If I want to add articles from people who send them into the site, but I don’t want them to be able to see site stats and who’s following the blog is there a way to do that? It seems even on the lowest level of site access someone could see into the site backend. Is it okay for me to set up a wordpress account on someone else’s behalf or does that go against TOS?

    Thanks,
    Don

  • Hi there,

    1) All upgrades are per site, so you’ll need to purchase an upgrade for each site separately.

    2) We don’t offer any discounts if you buy the same upgrade on multiple sites.

    3) You don’t have to use the custom domain if you don’t want to. You can also use the free domain in the plan to register a custom domain and point it to a different host while keeping your WordPress.com site on the free address.

    4) If you don’t want to give contributors dashboard access, you can have them submit content via email or a contact form instead, with you creating and publishing the actual posts. I know of a few bloggers who handle guest posts that way.

You can also create a post by email address that will allow people to submit posts via email directly to the site, but those are published instantly so you’ll have no way to check posts before they are published.

    Post by Email

It’s okay to help someone set up an account, but preferably only one person should know the login credentials of any account. Otherwise the lines of ownership become too blurry.
