some sites become unresponsive upon login

    After logging into wordpress.com site, some wordpress sites and some other than wordpress sites become unresponsive (can’t access). If I delete the cookies that appear upon login… then the sites are again responsive. What could be causing this?

    Hello Michael-
    Sorry you are having issues. Could you provide some more details around which WordPress sites become unresponsive after you login? Are you having problems with your dashboard, or is this when viewing other websites hosted at WordPress.com?

    If you could share some links that would be very helpful.

    Hi Tim and thank you for your time. After logging in, some WordPress sites would not respond and it would act as if it were caught in some sort of a loop waiting for a response. When this occurred, I started checking which sites wouldn’t open. While they were attempting to open, I clicked on the security symbol and soon noticed that all of the WordPress sites that would not open indicated “DST root ca x3” and all the ones that would open… indicated a different certification authority. There were some… other than WordPress sites… some even unsecured that would not open also. If I signed out of WordPress “or” if I deleted all the cookies associated with WordPress… then all sites became accessible again.

    After three days of checking everything I could think of to find the problem… I was unable to solve it. I was still able to access the dashboard and as far as I could tell… all parts of WordPress were functional… I did not attempt to post during this time so I am unable to comment on that.

    Oddly… shortly before receiving your response… the problem seems to have resolved for some unknown reason… at least temporarily. Not sure if it will return or something was changed to alleviate the problem.

    If you have any clues… I’d be most grateful…

    Very strange indeed. So when you experienced the slowness on WordPress sites, you were viewing the “front end” correct? Were theses sites that you manage, or sites you read?

    If the behavior does happen again, please let me know so I can try to re-create the issue and diagnose accordingly.

    It seems I’m always one to provide mysteries… Yes… I was viewing the “front end” and the WordPress sites that would not load were ones that I read on a regular basis. The ‘other than WordPress’ sites were of local news and weather sites. As of this moment… the ‘unknown’ fix is holding. I will certainly scream for help if it occurs again… Thank you so much for assisting me in my learning process…
