Some WP blogs not rendering correctly in Internet Explorer 10
-
My blog under this user name has not been rendering correctly on my computer for several days using IE 10 (most recent version, installed several months ago). It is text only or part of the header in the wrong place, not in the correct fonts or colors or format, no widgets visible. (I have 6 turned on in the right sidebar.) This is also true of the back end dashboard. Nothing is laid out in the correct usable format. This is also true of some of other people’s public WP.com blogs that I am trying to view as a reader, not all. Some WP.com blogs that I go to in IE 10 look fine.
Everything is working fine in Firefox. Two other private WP.com blogs I own under completely separate user names are fine in either Firefox or IE10. I have cleared caches and changed compatibility modes to no avail, tried to turn various add-ons on and off, but still have not figured out why the problem affects some WP.com blogs and not others and what to do about it.
I suspect it is something on my specific computer, but don’t know what. Any help appreciated. I primarily use Firefox but occasionally need to have both browsers open and toggle back and forth while working on complex posts with many links to source material. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

re: IE 10 issue
I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting. Will you please go through the complete checklist that follows and post you your results here for Staff?1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:

http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. Try using another browser.
5. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(c) And what any error reports you receive state. -
Thank you. It seems to render correctly now– probably I didn’t get the right add on, when trying to disable individually, and got it when disabling all. However, WP is now putting a huge red “insecure browser” notice in my dashboard, only when I am logged in through IE, and encouraging me to update my browser at BrowseHappy. I know IE 10 is the most up to date version, and so does BrowseHappy, because when I click on the link to BrowseHappy, it tells me so. So something is still not right.
For reference, in case the rendering issue recurs soon, my answers to the above questions:
1) Had the up to date browser before this issue started and before I posted.
2) Did that before I posted
3) Did a) and b) before I posted. Mobile device not applicable. Did c) individually and thought I did all of them before I posted, but may not have gotten all of them, because that works now with no add ons. d) has been set to secure connection all along.
4) As stated when I originally posted, everything has been fine in Firefox all along.
5) Using Windows 7,IE 10 and Firefox 24 on a residential cable and wireless connection, which is what I have been using since long before these issues.

Hi there,
Thanks for posting this information. I had one of my co-workers (who is on a PC) attempt to replicate the issue, and we weren’t able to. It does appear to have been some add-on which was loading on your particular browser. I’m sorry that I don’t have any additional information for you!
In regards to the insecure browser notification, is that only when you’re logged in to the Dashboard, or when you’re visiting your front of site as well? And if it is when visiting the front of site, are you visiting an HTTPS version or just HTTP?
Thanks for letting me know!

Thank you. The “insecure browser” is only on the dashboard, not the front end, and only on this computer. HTTP for the front of the computer is fine. HTTPS will not even show the page. I logged in yesterday in IE on a public computer at another location, and did not see the notice in the dashboard.

I know that you’ve verified that your browser is the most recent, but I would definitely recommend that if you have not already done so you run a complete virus check to ensure that there is nothing untoward installed on that browser. You may also want to consider using only Firefox and Chrome as alternatives.
I’m sorry that I cannot give you any in-depth information about what might be going wrong with your browser!

My anti-virus/anti-malware program scans automatically every day, and in my experience, is quite sensitive. Thank you for trying.
