Some xml files won’t load

  Hello. We are trying to upload our files from a WordPress domain to out own domain with a host. We have the whole site archived as WordPress.xml backup files. But when we try to upload them to the new site, they won’t upload. It goes to ‘Sending request…’ then never connects with the site and times out. We were able to upload one file but the others timed out. What’s going on? Thanks in advance.
