Somebody has opened up a blog with my name

A blog called “Harold Lee Miller” — “hello world” has started up and I’m getting notifications to moderate comments. It’s the same as my real blog, Harold Lee Miller, but I didn’t open this new one. Seems to be a fraud blog? Not sure what the deal is. In any case there are zero posts on it but it is attracting comments, and I’m thinking it is some sort of spam thing.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I believe your blog may be caught up in a duplicate blog glitch Staff are fixing. I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  • What’s the URL of the blog you’re getting notifications for? Do you have an example of one of the notifications? Thanks.

    Here’s the url:

    http://haroldleemiller.com/blog/?p=1

you will see it says Harold Lee Miller photographer but it’s not me. I could forward a notification email if I had an email for you —

That is a WordPress.ORG install blog and not hosted on WordPress.COM so the staff can not help you

A whosi shows the domain name has been registered since 1998 by a person with the same first and last name as you living in Indianapolis

Did you win: Graphis Photo Annual 2014 completion?

As long as they are not impersonating you I doubt you have a lot of recourse. They are not using the domain name much, maybe they would sell it?

I did win the award — and I live in Indianapolis. It is clearly me. Very puzzling. I own the domain name, too.

Have you ever had a web site with the haroldleemiller.com name?

Currently the site in question is hosted on RACKSPACE.COM. Did you have the name servers set to Rackspace or another host?

If you did not intend to have the name servers set to Rackspace maybe someone was able to access your registrar account and change the name servers. The last update of the registration was in 2011 which would correspond to the date on the blog in question, they are running WordPress 3.0.1 which indicates they are not maintaining the blog and updating the software

You could also map the domain name to your blog here. $ 13.- / year
