Somebody is imitating me to scam people

  What do I do about somebody posting my content on their WordPress site, then placing a download link to said content – however this link is a virus.

  Have you checked if the site is hosted here at WordPress.com (in which case this might help https://en.support.wordpress.com/copyright-infringement-what-to-do/ ) or if the site is actually using the WordPress.org software (in which case you’d need to contact the host of the site directly).

  Thanks for your response! There is no contact information on the site, since this is a criminal.

  They’re re-posting a bunch of people’s videos on the topic, not just mine. And I don’t think it’s hosted on WordPress, he/she just wrote “Proudly powered by WordPress” at the bottom, I guess to fool people.

  OK I just looked through their source code, and I found several things that could suggest the site is made/hosted on WordPress.

  1) <link rel=’dns-prefetch’ href=’//s.w.org’ />
  2) <link rel=’https://api.w.org/’
  3) <!– All in One SEO Pack 2.12 by Michael Torbert of Semper Fi Web Design[272,359] –>

  (3 is a search engine optimization plugin for WordPress)

  Now I need to contact the WordPress admins about this, but I don’t know where. I was hoping they’d see this themselves.

  That site is using the open source wordpress.org and is on CloudFlare, https://www.whoishostingthis.com/#search=pixelcarracerglitch.xyz

  Hi @thealtski,

  Looks like the name servers of https://pixelcarracerglitch.xyz point to Cloudflare so it’s a WordPress.org site.

  Unfortunately, just as @themagicrobot said, the admins here won’t be able to do anything. But if you contact Cloudflare, they should be able to tell you the hosting provider. Then you can follow step 5 of https://en.support.wordpress.com/copyright-infringement-what-to-do/
