Someone attempting to reset my account password

As the topic title says, someone is trying to get into my wordpress.com account. I received the email from wordpress; it is legitimate. This doesn’t pertain to one specific blog, as I have 3 separate ones.
I was wondering if the site/site admins have a log of whoever submits a password reset request for each account? The most recent one was me, because after seeing the password reset attempt by someone else, I wanted to find out if it asks for the user’s email address (which it doesn’t, so that’s a bit relieving).

Many times this is caused by someone fat fingering the account name or email address and spelling thing wrong

I would really love to know if anybody has a username similar to contrafan. I don’t think that’s really the case. I’ve seen this reasoning thrown around a lot, and it often may have been the reason, but that doesn’t mean I should discount the possibility that someone really did try to get into my account. The email associated with it is rather unique; and as I said, I’d like to know if there actually are other users with similar usernames.

I had someone on another site that did not remember their user name and used mine, kept failing the log-in and eventually my account was locked and I had to get an admin to reset it – so it happens in different ways

I am seeing two password requests made, but I’m not able to see exactly who made these requests as you can imagine. However, I wouldn’t worry too much about it as they wouldn’t have access to your email to change it. If your account gets locked because of too many failed login attempts please let me know.

I made the second password reset request (as I said in the first post); it was just to test if wordpress asks for the email associated with the wordpress account. Thankfully it doesn’t, because if it did, that would mean the other guy knows my email, too (which is more worrisome of course).
Hopefully, it’s just a 1-time thing. I’ll make a follow-up if it persists.
