Someone else has the word press URL I want and they aren't using it…Can it….
-
Hi, I noticed a blog URL I wanted to use is currently registered to someone else. However, their blog looks to have been created in 2006, there is one introduction post, and other than that the site hasn’t been touched. I am making the assumption it is no longer being used.
Can wordpress assist me with contacting this person and perhaps getting the site URL and name turned over to me? It would be a shame for a site I would like to make active just sit dead.
Please advise.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is not rule that one must use a theme they reigister. Staff do no ever violate privacy. If you cannot contact the blogger and secure their permission to transfer their blog to you then you have reached a dead end. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

Also note that WordPress.com is a top level domain. All blogs here are on .wordpress.com sub-domain URLs. And it doesn’t matter at all what the underlying .wordpress.com sub-domain URL is if you purchase a domain mapping upgrade.

WP.com will not assist you with this. If you can find contact details for them on your own, you’re free to contact them, but staff won’t help. It would be a violation of the privacy policy.
