Someone else is in control of my site! HELP!!!!

I hired a company to build two WP sites for me. They have disappeared and my sites are on their server. What can I do to get my content back and have it hosted by WP? HELP!! Time is of the essence as I don’t know when their Host Gator plan will expire and my sites will just disappear!! Thanks, Mona Giordano

We do not provide support for Hostgator sites http://support.hostgator.com/ here at WordPress.COM or for any WordPress.ORG software at all.
As those sites are not hosted here by WordPress.COM, our support docs do not relate to them and we cannot provide support for them. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
