Someone Else’s Content Already Published on New Site
-
Hello, I am trying to start a new site and apparently I have happened upon someone else’s content that has already been published?? I’m confused! Please help!
-
What is the URL of the site you are trying to work on? We’ll be happy to take a look and see if we can help.
-
It is possible that this is content from the Live Demo of the theme you are using. If you don’t want your site to be visible to the public until you’ve set everything up and inserted your content, make it Private or Coming Soon in Settings/General.

You might be right, putoljupka.
@abriefmarriage if it’s just demo content, you can remove it by editing the pages, or deleting the posts:
https://wordpress.com/postsIf you still need help, could you send a link to the site you’re having trouble with?

I was able to remove some pages, but there is STILL excess content that is not mine that I find as I click around the site! My theory is that someone used this site to build a free/experimental site at one time and then just never deleted it?
Any help appreciated!

Also, I never added the subscribe widget. It’s fine that it’s there, but how do I make sure it is working properly? In over my head I guess…

Demo content is included to give people an idea how their site will look. It is meant to be deleted as you build your site. I doubt someone else previously had the address that included 3 “w”s. https://wwwgoodnessgracious.wordpress.com/ before you. Addresses here are unique and not recycled.

@abriefmarriage please add some content to your site. You can publish a post here:
https://wordpress.com/postThen if there is any demo content left over that you can’t get rid of, let us know.
