someone hijacked my emailaccount

  Dear people from wordpress.com

  A week ago someone used my google account to create an account on this website. I did not create this account and I did not activate it. As far as I know there is no way to get into contact with you WITHOUT making an account so I had CREATE an account just toget some help with this problem. So I would like some help with the following issues:

  1. Closing the account that someone used my email adress to get.
  2. Closing the account that I had to create to get some help

  I don’t know if anyone else has had this problem in the past but maybe in the future it would be nice to be able to get some help WITHOUT having to be registered

  Do you still have access to the email account that was hacked? If so, then you can do a password reset for the (first) WordPress account (the one that wasn’t created by you), so that you can log in to your site.

  Then, in your dashboard, go to Tools -> Delete Site to remove the site that was created by the hacker.

  Your account can not be deleted. You should change the password for it to something very random and just never log in again.

  Needless to say, you should also change the password of your Google account.

  Thanx for replying. Yes I do have access to that emailaccount and I tried using it to get access to the wordpress account and failed couse I don’t know the password. And off course I changed my password eventhough google said the mails were never opened untill I opened them and no one else logged in but me

  Any other suggestions would be welcome:-)

  Just go to log in with that account and click “Forgot my password.” It will then email you a new one. Log in and you’re in control.

  Well my partner told me off for doing these type off things myself and I now have control of the account. I closed the site. Now I still want to close the accounts and I think it is a crime against my privacy that wordpress.com are keeping them open against my will.

  You’re welcome. There are some rumblings that not allowing you to close an account is illegal. If you have access to cheap legal help you might look into a lawsuit or something, particularly since you never voluntarily signed up for an account in the first place.
