Someone is actively trying to hack my WordPress site

    I have about a hundred email notifications that someone is trying and so far failing to get access to my wordpress site. So far he/she is trying to guess the username. Is there anything I can/should actively do?

    I used the Whois function to check the IP address, even though it changes frequently. I got this

    Hi there, what is the address of the site you need help with?

    If by chance you need help with a site using the open source WordPress (org) software you’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support where they likely have more experience with the type of issue you are having. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on that page.

    Just to clarify, this support forum assists users of WordPressdotcom hosted sites.     Hello,

    Thanks for your quick answer. My site is streetclickz.fstop2.de

    The hack attempts seem to have stopped. At least I don’t get any more notifications. Maybe they’ve given up. I’m using 2step verification and a very long, random password.
