Someone is posting on my blog without my permission. How can this be prevented?

  Dear WordPress,

  I have been using WordPress in some fashion since 2008. I started out using the free blog at WordPress.com, and have since converted to the PAID blog at WordPress.org. http://www.lewpblog.com

  I wanted to keep my old blog as a link on the new blog, to keep my old writings (www.lewp.wordpress.com)

  I have someone from overseas actually going in to my old blog and posting posts to my old blog!!!! I have tried changing my password several times, probably at least 25 times, and the person still gets in to my site and advertises his photography or some other business right on my sight!!!!!! Isn’t there someway to prevent this person from doing this. Now, he/she is advertising e-mail marketing. This is so violating me it’s pathetic. Nopt only does he/she jack my old blog up, people retweet the post!

  Need help.
  By the way, whenever I change the password, I have to get a new verification code, then use an authenticator app on my phone, do all kinds of things just to get back to my own blog. Looks to me like I could prevent this person from jacking up my old blog.

  Are you kidding me? There is no way to submit all this crap I just typed?

  Hey there.

  The mysterious posts you are seeing are coming from your “Post by Email” address.

  Your blog has “Post by Email” enabled, which means that any email sent to a special email address is processed by WordPress.com as a new post.

  Two recent “posts by email” on your blog seem to match your description:

  • Need Email Marketing? We can Help!
  • Photo Retouching Services – Photo Cut Out

  Perhaps at some point your secret email address was exposed and spammers started emailing to it. Our spam filter probably caught most of that traffic, except for these examples.

  You can learn how to turn this feature off for your blog here:

  After you do that, you won’t see any other problem with mysterious posts.
