Someone logged into my account using link

    I received a notification that someone logged in. I want to know how this breach happened and what is to be done about it.

    Hi there, was this someone logging into your WordPress.com account?

    Generally how that login process works is:

    • You insert your email address into the field at https://wordpress.com/log-in/link
    • Our system sends an email to your email address
    • You find the email in your inbox, and click the link it contains
    • This will log you in on your WordPress.com account

    In order to use this method, you have access to your email inbox. What this means is that if someone else has access to your email inbox, they could use the login link method to access your WordPress.com account.

    I checked your account and your free site http://angiegabzclub.wordpress.com/ – it does not appear that any actions were taken on your account.

    If you suspect that someone else can have access to your email inbox, it’s worth taking measures to protect yourself such as changing the password.
