I’m sorry, but we do not reuse or reassign blog names on WordPress.com.

If you like, you can attempt to contact the owner of that blog and ask them if they would like to transfer it to you. You can do this by either leaving them a message using a contact form if it exists, or leaving a comment on an existing page or post requesting they contact you.

If you are able to reach the blog owner and they are willing to transfer the blog to you, here are the instructions they can use to do that.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

If they do not respond or refuse the transfer, you will need to select a different name for your WordPress.com blog.

Keep in mind we also offer an upgrade for custom domain names and you can use any WordPress.com blog URL underneath a custom domain. For more details about how domain mapping works:

The only way to obtain an unsed blog here at wordpress.com is to contact the blogger who created it vis a comment box or contact information. If you succeed than the blogger can transfer the blog to you using this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

Note that Staff will not breach the privacy policy by providing the email address to you. Note alsoi that there is not requirement that must use any blog they register.

If you are not successful you can register another blog > http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Or you can purchase a domain mapping upgrade for your free hosted WordPress.com blog in which case what the underlying .wordpress.com URL doesn’t matter see: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/

Thanks for the quick response, Debecktt!!

    Let me explain:

i’ve been using battuh.blogspot.com since 2009. But I became very unsatisfied with blogspot, and after founding wordpress, i decided that wordpress would give a much better blog.

Problem is: when I tried to register battuh.wordpres.com, it said:

The address battuh.wordpress.com cannot be registered. Sorry, that site is reserved! But you can sign up and choose another one.

Then I had to ad a “2” to my blog name. But If try to access battuh.wordpress.com, it returns:

    battuh.wordpress.com doesn’t exist

The address battuh.wordpress.com cannot be registered. Sorry, that site is reserved! But you can sign up and choose another one.

So, if it’s not been used, I’d like to reclaim it, hehe. But how do I contact the owner?

When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has the matching username.

    As I said above:

Note that Staff will not breach the privacy policy by providing the email address to you.

The person with the username battuh registered that username account February 3, 2009 (3 years ago).

And isn’t there a time limit that a username can be reserved without being used, perhaps?

The user might be contributing on another blog or needed the account to access a Private blog so the name might very well be in constant use – just not used as a blog name

Unless you have an international trade mark, you won’t be able to force anyone to give up that name. Why not use the Custom Domain upgrade to get battuh.com or whatever instead?
