Something I’m not clear on re: CSS
-
I’ve been reading past threads and faq on CSS, and have a bit more of an idea of what I can do with it. I haven’t yet upgraded and frankly, it’s b/c I’m scared to do so…hehe. The only reason I want to upgrade is to be able to change my links (size and color). It’s minor but worth the cost of upgrade. Is that a simple enough thing that is difficult to screw up? Also, I’m under the impression that there’s some white box where you simply add the changes in to override the theme you have. So, hypothetically, if you ‘screw up’ your blog, can’t you just delete what you type in and automatically fix it? I just want to take this stuff into consideration before risking the chances i’ll permanently ruin my blog. Thanks.

I know the simple basics of code because I started at Blogger. I use to change my template like every week and when I first started, I screwed up so bad and had to set the default template which meant losing all the extras I had added. I learned as I went along. And Googling saved me headaches in the long run learning new codes and such.

Well if you go about this the right way there is absolutely no chance you can ruin your blog. The system is cleverly designed so you can’t. But God knows we shouldnt presume anything. :)

You cannot permanently “screw up” your blog with the CSS upgrade. All you have to do is delete the CSS you have entered in the white box, and you’re back to square one.
I have really enjoyed tweaking the CSS on my blog, even though it took a lot of time and energy to do it.
Changing the size & color of your links is easy. Just take a look at a few CSS references online, and start messing around. Use the free preview before you buy to see what you’ll be getting.
