Something I’ve noticed about legit comments being sent to Akismet.

If they don’t have an email address, they get sent there. Is this true?

No. Akismet is used in many non-blog settings such as forums where no email address is available.
If legit comments are getting caught, send me an email and I’ll try to sort it.

huh, that makes sense. experientially, though, i have seen most anonymous comments get kicked to akismet (both of these did, although i might be wrong, the second one might be spam).

Mark, pingback from meneame.net (a spanish language Digg clone) are consistently sent to the spam bucket, for example…
(I know, I should’ve sent a Feedback on it. Should I still do it?)

oclcyc – that shouldn’t happen from now.
sunburntkamel – just the email missing won’t have caused that.

I’m sure that the IP of the commenter is also being checked. I’m sure that may have come into play on some of these.
