Something screwy with hit counts?

  I’ve been averaging 50-60 visits per day for a few months now. About a week ago I suddenly started spiking out at 800-1000 hits per day. My hit counts for individual posts and referalls hasn’t increased any however.

  Anyone have any ideas?

  Maybe your blog just got indexed by search engines? Or listed on Technorati? Have you changed any privacy settings, or has any one of your posts gone viral? People tend to stick around and keep reading once they’ve been introduced to a blog they like.

  I’ve been in Technorati for a while. It’s possible for some reason or another I’ve gotten indexed higher in search engines. Maybe I crossed some sort of artificial post count that causes Search engines to index me higher.

  I’m not sure that any of my posts have gone viral. Like I said, I didn’t see a spike in any individual posts.
