something similar to Twenty Eleven

  Hi, I’d been experimenting with Twenty Eleven on my own installation, but I really want to use it on wordpress.com.

  However, I had to use a plugin to be able to change the default header size. I see now that I can’t use a plugin on wordpress.com.

  So my question is: what other theme is there similar to 2011, wherein I can set the header height (or else it comes with a default header height that isn’t so big)? I do absolutely want to use a custom header image. Also, I only need a single right sidebar. Thanks.

  We only provide support for free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this support forum. The only themes we can use are found here > Appearance > Themes and also in the Themes Showcase. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins or any themes into them The themes found on the internet are for wordpress.ORG installs which run on different software.

  Thanks, but… but I really want to use it on wordpress.com :)

  Do you know of a theme that works similarly to 2011, with a custom header image, but that isn’t so large as the header that 2011 uses??

  This is a peer support forum and you have the link to the Themes Showcase where there is a search box with are feature filters. I encourage you to use it to locate a theme that suits you.

  Hi @learningat,

  We list the dimensions of the Custom Header images for all themes that support one, here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/

  Similar themes to Twenty Eleven with smaller Custom Header image height are Twenty Ten, Coraline, and Pilcrow.

  Currently, it is not possible to change the header height, however you might be able to work around this somewhat with the Custom Design upgrade by using CSS.
