something to count items and count days

    I have challenged myself to sew a quilting block each day until all blocks are made, then make them into a quilt. I have worked it out to a date when I should be finished the quilt. I want to keep count of what day it is each day, and I want to keep count of how many blocks I have made. How do I do this on my blog. I already have a countdown to the final day of sewing this quilt, but it just says….3 months to go. I have also challenged myself on this blog to sew something every day of the year. I would like to keep the countdown of how many days left in the year, and how many items I have made in that year. Please, how do I do this? Or am I asking too much? I can use a computer ok, but Im not very clever at working out how to do things, I need really easy instructions, like Step 1. and Step 2. and Step 3. and so on.
