Something went wrong

Hi. I want to try the “Free” plan to see how this works.
I’ve registered and activated my account.
Then I went to “create site”.
It correctly says “My site is called Mascarillasparati”.
    continue
    Choose a Domain.
I chose the free one: mascarillasparati580622275.wordpress.com
    continue
    Choose a Design.
I chose “Rivington” and accepted the default values
    continue
    Which Features will you need?
    I didn’t choose anything
    skip for now
    Select a plan
I chose the free plan, and clicked “Select”

A page briefly displays that says “Building your site” step 1 of 2
and then it is replace with “Something went wrong”, please contact our support team.

I clicked the link and filled out the form that appeared, but then there was a popup saying that an “active access token must be used to query information about the current user”. I have no idea what that means.

So here I am, hoping that this is a common problem and that someone can help me to get unstuck.

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi there,

It looks like you successfully created a new site on our free plan about an hour after posting this forum thread: https://mascarillasparati.wordpress.com/

You’ll see that site if you click on My Sites at the top left of the page.

Let us know if you need help with anything else.

    Yes I did. Thank you.
I don’t know why, but I had to use a different browser (Brave Browser).
Firefox ESR and Safari did not work, even with all scripts allowed and ad-blocking disabled. After the site was created, we could access it with our usual browser with most of the usual settings.

Thank you for your time and attention.
I guess I should have come back and cancelled my post. Sorry.

  • No need to cancel this, the post will be closed automatically after some period of inactivity. Cheers!
