Sometimes when I add a picture it changes the spacing
-
When I add a picture through Cut+Paste (from creativecommons.org) it sometimes messes up the spacing (it all gets crunched together) is there any way to fix this?
For some reason I’m having trouble uploading pictures (maybe because I have an old computer with an old operating system that won’t allow updates).
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There’s no known issue I am aware of.
In order to help you we need to know your specific computing environment details. Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:

http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.

Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.

See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#alignment
The alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left hand side, or to display an image that’s centered without text on either side of it.
Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.
Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.
Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).
If the text beside the images does not occupy the same amount of space that the image beside it does then the text wrapping will continue and the images and text that follow will have a staggered appearance.
To prevent the staggered effect what you do is insert the following snippet of code into the Text (HTML) editor after each image/text pair:
<div style="clear:both;"></div> -
Thank you for your great responses! I’m using a very old version of Firefox. I suspected that might be a problem. Unfortunately, I can’t update it because my macbook is so old that it won’t run the new versions of Firefox (I’ve tried).
Do you by any chance know why suddenly (as of about 8am this morning) I’ve been unable to access My Blogs, Stats, or any of the other features that are supposed to pop up when you first log in? I didn’t do anything differently….

If all else fails one can log out, disconnect the router, wait an hour and then try rebooting the computer.

Hello Kendall,
Sorry to hear about the problems you’re having. Could you tell me which post you’re having trouble uploading images into? If the problem continues, can you try using the browser uploader instead?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/media/uploader/
Additionally, clearing your browser cache might help with the issues you experienced while accessing your site.
Hope that helps! Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you. Thanks!

Hi Duesome,
Thank you for responding! I’m having trouble with a lot of posts. Here is an example of one: http://toneuptoronto.com/2014/05/28/day-154-squats/ See how all the text gets crunched together at the bottom? When I look at it on the screen where you add the posts it looks like there should be spaces, but the spaces don’t show up in the posts.I’ve tried the browser uploader but for some reason it doesn’t work for me. I can’t seem to drop pictures in. Could they be too big? I should also probably mention that I am working on a very old macbook (Mac OS X Version 10.4.11) with an old version of Firefox because it won’t allow me to update it with such an old computer. Could that be part of my problem?
I will definitely try clearing my browser cache and will let you know if that works!
Thanks again!!

Hi there!
I’ve gone ahead and edited your post here:
https://toneuptoronto.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=2062&action=edit
While in Text Editor mode, I pressed the return key twice to set the spacing between each line to double spaces and saved the post. The text no longer gets clumped up at the bottom now:

Please try doing this in your other posts as well. Good luck!
