Songkick and WordPress.com Integration
-
Our band uses wordpress.com (rather than wordpress.org) to manage our website.
http://en.wordpress.com/music/ says that WordPress.com has songkick integration:
“Killer features … Display a list of upcoming gigs, pulled from Songkick.com or your Google Calendar.”How do we do this?
I can’t install Songkick’s custom widget which is intended for wordpress.org — https://tourbox.songkick.com/tools/widget
Songkick advises that you use their website HTML — which should work for WordPress.com sites:
https://tourbox.songkick.com/tools/widgetThis fails and only creates a link to “tour dates” without populating a calendar. If I look at the HTML after an update then the script tags are gone and it’s just a link. So WordPress is removing the script’s integration.
What’s up WordPress? I’m disappointed that I have to put my tour dates in a second time manually when you’re supposed to be able to pull from Songkick.
Please advise.

Hi there – I just wanted to let you know that I’m not actually sure about this, so I’m checking on it for you, and I’ll be in touch as soon as I find out. :)

Hi there – I checked about this, and it seems that when we first introduced this widget, Songkick had a way to access your events via an iCal feed, which could be used for our widget. I can’t find a way to do this now, however, so I think this might have changed. We’ve removed that from our description for the time being.
However, it looks like you can easily export your Songkick events to iCal, and then you could use that feed for the widget:
