Sop Comments on All Posts

How do you disallow people from commenting on existing posts? Apparently it is possible to go into each post and turn comments off but with over 400 posts that is impractical. I’m looking for a single setting that will shut down all commenting on my wordpress.com blog.

    Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey there!

You can do a bulk edit of your Posts as follows:

    1. Click here: https://jamestownconnect.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php
    2. Select All Posts by clicking the box next to “Title”
    3. Click the Bulk Action drop down box and select Edit. Click Apply.
    4. In the third column, you’ll see a drop down box titled “Comments.” Click that and choose “Do not allow.”
    5. Click Update to save your changes.

You can then move to the next page of posts and take the same action.

I hope this helps! Take care.

Thanks. Would be nice if the number of posts listed could be much larger to minimize the repetition for a large number of posts.

    Steve, that’s a great idea.

While it’s nothing that will change immediately, I can add it to the queue considered by our developers. If enough users request a change, it becomes a distinct possibility it will become a new upgrade. This seems like a handy adjustment!

    Thanks much.
