SOP for WP.com sites when moving to a WP.org site
-
I have two sites on WP.com (www.JustYouImagine.com and http://www.TheNurturedEntrepreneur.com). The first is a static page web site; the second an associated blog. Several months ago, I moved all content from both to WP.org so they’re now hosted by a recommended host. These new sites, in effect, replace the two old ones.
I’ve read the support and forums on changing privacy settings and deleting sites. It seems that what I’d want to do at this point is to permanently delete both old sites. Is there any reason not to? What do users typically do after conducting a complete move like this?
One of my subscribers notified me that she’d received an announcement of a new post via the old WP.com e-mail system. I’m not sure why this would have happened because the new post is NOT on the WP.com site and the link in WP.com e-mail announcement was of course “broken.”
Thanks for recommendations and information.

This site is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog > http://thenurturedentrepreneur.com/
It’s a WordPress.org install. This site is also not a free hosted WordPress.com site http://justyouimagine.com/ It’s also a WordPress.org install.These two sites are free hosted WordPress.com blogs http://justyouimagine.wordpress.com/
http://thenurturedentrepreneur.wordpress.com/I would choose to change blog visibility on your WordPress.com sites to “private” and keep them as backup sites, which I would periodically update by export from the WordPress.org sites and import into the WordPress.com sites.
