Sorbet theme

Hi All.
When I look at my blog I feel that the main text box is far too narrow. I would like it to fill more of the computer screen. How can I achieve this?
Thanks,Geoff
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Geoff,
You can add the following to widen the main content area of your site. From your site please go to Customize >> CSS and paste this in:
.site-content { max-width: 60em; }Your site currently has this width set to 55.556em so you can play with the 60em a bit and see what you prefer.

Hi lindamork. I hope you enjoyed Christmas.
Thanks very much for the reply and it’s given me what I want in that I can change the width of the text area now. However, as is the way with these things, that creates another problem which is that the photos are now narrower than the text and have a grey box around them. I accept that I may not be able to change photo sizes retrospectively but is there a way of increasing their size so they match whichever text box size I finally settle on, within new posts? They are already set at the maximum size allowed.
While I’m on a roll, here’s another question. A while ago I lost an older post but was able to retrieve it and reinsert it. The problem was that it went back in on the new date and is no longer in the correct order with the other posts. Is there any way of altering the insertion date so I can get it back in the correct timeline?
Thanks,

Hi Geoff,
Thanks, I hope you had a very merry Ho-Ho too!
You can edit the publish date of your post by opening your post and editing the publish options. Here’s a screenshot of where to look:
To address the width of images in your posts, we can do a couple of things. You can alter the width of your images by inserting a number into the Media Width box in Customizer. Go to: Customizer >> CSS then scroll down. Your large image media settings are 1024px x 1024px so try something that size or less (like 960px for example).
You may see if you like the look of your images without the grey border. You can do this in your CSS customizations by changing two lines of the .wp-caption class from this:
border: 1px solid #ddd; background-color: #f3f3f3; To this: border: none; background-color: transparent; }You can read more about Advanced CSS controls and Media Width here:

Cheers!
