Sorry, that site is reserved!

    Hi,

So I’m trying to change my blog address from ‘linguisticsowl.wordpress.com’ to ‘teacherbartek.wordpress.com’. I’m getting a ‘Sorry, that site is reserved!’ error.

When I navigate to ‘teacherbartek.wordpress.com’, I get the error message ‘teacherbartek.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.’

I also tried changing my username from ‘linguisticsowl’ to ‘teacherbartek’ but I thought that that might be part of the problem so I changed it back. So, I have a feeling that ‘teacherbartek.wordpress.com’ is not actually taken by anyone other than myself.

Could you please help me figure out if I can actually get that address. It would be helpful so that my address across email, social media, and web is the same.

I cannot find how to contact support directly if it is something they need to ‘tweak’.

    THanks!
    Bartek

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • It’s a deleted blog. You can’t claim a deleted blog address.

So maybe because I changed my username, it reserved that new address. So how do I change the address of my blog that is different from my username to be the same as my new username.

  • So maybe because I changed my username, it reserved that new address.

No. It was reserved before you changed your username.

So how do I change the address of my blog that is different from my username to be the same as my new username.

Blog addresses don’t have to be the safe as usernames.
You current username is linguisticsowl and your blog is linguisticsowl.wordpress.com. So don’t change anyting.

  • Correct:
Blog addresses don’t have to be the same as usernames.
Your current username is linguisticsowl and your blog is linguisticsowl.wordpress.com. So don’t change anyting.
