If have chosen to make a static front page for my blog. I do not want any comments here, and have therefore disabled comments. That have resolved in the text “Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time” displayed in large, not very flattering letters, at my front page. How can I remove this without being forced to allow comments?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t remove it unless you buy the CSS upgrade.
You can switch to a theme that displays no such message on static pages; see here: -

Hi again
I have tried to remove the above mentioned comments off text, by using CSS but with no luck. I am no CSS pro and can’t really figure out the coding. I use the theme Neutra. Does anybody know how? -

Surely this is a wordpress fault – who would want a blog with random text applied to each page – there is also no mention of it on the themes site – or of there a requirement for CSS pro

@hangar68
In fact there is no Staff support for CSS editing. The only support here is being provided by 3 people who are Volunteers ie. your fellow bloggers.Also what sets blogs apart from websites is clear. Wevsites operate as one way noticeboards. Blogs are designed for interactive communication through bloggers dialoging with those who leave comments comments. The expectation that Staff ought to edit all templates for over 100 themes so that “comments closed” (or similar phrases) do not display when comments are closed is IMO unrealistic. Also as a visitor when I visit a blog I expect to be able to comment and when I can’t I want to know why so the “comments closed” phrase or similar phrases are important for me to see. If I don’t see them then I think there may be something wrong with my browser or my computer.
Bottom line: As Staff only monitor forum threads, if you have feedback for Staff then please use this link to convey it to them. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
