    I get a ‘Sorry, there was a problem following [URL]. Please try again.’ error when trying to follow https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/107024591. Unlike other questions I’ve seen by searching here, I’ve still followed some other blogs successfully. Could this error be from my end or the system’s end?

    I’m not seeing an error when trying to follow that site, could you try to clear your browser’s cache? You can find here more information on how to clear the cache depending on your browser:

    If that does not help, try using a different browser and let us know if the issue persists.

    Hey there, I’ve tried clearing my cache for Chrome and that didn’t work. I switched over to Safari, which didn’t work either.

  • Ok, first please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/

    If it is not, please try updating your browser.

    If it is, please do these two things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

    2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

    Thanks for the followup, using:

    • Chrome 85.0.4183.38 on macOS 10.15.5 with no extensions, cleared cache and cookies I see this error
    • Safari 13.1.1 on macOS 10.15.5 with no extensions, cleared cache and cookies I see this error

    I’ve also tried searching for this blog using the WordPress.com iOS app:

    • iPhone Xs with iOS 13.5.1, I tap “Follow”, which briefly changes to “Following”, and then changes back to “Follow”
    • iPad Pro (11-inch, 2018) with iPadOS 13.5.1, I tap “Follow”, which briefly changes to “Following”, and then changes back to “Follow”

    As well as the WordPress.com desktop app:

    • 6.0.0 on macOS 10.15.5, I also see the “Sorry, there was a problem following [URL]. Please try again.” error.

    In all 5 different combinations across Chrome on macOS, Safari on macOS, WordPress.com for macOS, WordPress.com for iPhone, and WordPress.com for iPad, I’ve checked again to confirm that I haven’t successfully followed the blog.

    The issue is not with your browser or account.

    This site is hosted on our VIP hosting platform, and it looks like a recent change there might be causing this.

    Our developers is looking into this, and we’ll let you know once the problem is fixed, but until then I’m afraid it’s not possible to follow this site in the Reader.
