Sort posts oldest to newest
-
Searching around I’m seeing answers to sorting issues that involve editing the php files. Fine. Done my share of that.
I’m not running my own server for this, though. I’ve tried ftp, sftp, scp and ssh to try and access the server. None of that works.
What is the secret to getting to the files of the site?
Thanks

Posts are already sorted in chronological order, from newest on top and oldest on the bottom. WordPress.com doesn’t support FTP/SSH access to your blog. There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.

Yes, but I want to reverse the order; Oldest to Newest. So I suppose the question is 2-fold:
– Can I change the default sort order in the standard, hosted admin UI?
– Is there any method to access the contents of the site short of setting up and administering my own instance? -
To answer each of your questions regarding blogs hosted on WordPress.com:
- You cannot change the sort order on WordPress.com blogs. As an alternative, you can make certain posts “sticky” so that they stay at the top of the page:

- You cannot access your WordPress.com files for security reasons. If you require FTP access to your site, you would need to use a self-hosted installation of WordPress, available at http://wordpress.org/
