Sorting Posts to Specific Pages
-
Hi all,
I’m brand spanking new to the whole blogging world and am in the process of setting my page up. I wanted to split my area up into four different areas and for these areas to appear along the top menu bar, which i have managed to do. However from this point when I write a post, how do I make it so the post only appears on the relevant page and not on the home page? I’m using the ‘Freshly’ theme – is it something to do with the categories? Help please!! :)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, those “areas” must be post categories, not static pages, and you need to create a custom menu that will display those category tabs. But by default your blog front displays your most recent posts regardless of category: if you don’t want that, you need to set your front to display a static page instead (in Settings>Reading). See here too:

That’s great thanks. I’ve done what you’ve said, however for whatever reason the ‘Home’ page that appears by default on the Freshly theme doesn’t show up in my list of pages and therefore when I come to select which page I want as my static home and which I want for my posts I can’t choose it … any ideas?
