Soundcheck events widget not working

My soundcheck events widget isn’t attaching to my events categories. I two post categorized as events but the widget is not displaying them

Welcome to WordPress.com! There are a couple of things we need to adjust for this to work on your site as you’d like.
- First, it looks like you added the Eventbrite widget—which is used to pull in events from the third-party Eventbrite service. If you pull that out and add in the “Soundcheck Events” one instead.
- For the upcoming events widget/display, the theme’s support page has instructions on how to set them up correctly: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/soundcheck/#soundcheck-events
You’ll want to follow those instructions to schedule the post for the date of the event.
Since you bought a premium theme, you also have direct access to the theme’s developer. In addition to the instructions at the link above, you can contact the theme’s developer for help on setting up and using Soundcheck via http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/soundcheck

thanks for your help, it’s worked out. I have another issue. My slider displays the info contained within my post how do I turn this of to picture only?

Glad to hear. Could you drop a note with your other question at http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/soundcheck for the theme developer? The slider is a particular feature of that theme.
I believe you can change the Post Format to Image, which may resolve it. The theme developer can give you a more definitive response.
