Soundcheck Theme: Image aspect ratio in Featured Post widget – how to change it?

  Soundcheck Theme: The image that displays with the Featured Post widget is cropped into a square, but it is then set into the left-hand half of a rectangle above the text excerpt, thus leaving the right-hand half of the rectangle the plain gray of the widget background. Our blog’s images are all rectangles to start with, and we want to be able to specify that the featured-post image should not be cropped, but be taken from the entire source image, and just scaled down as necessary so that it fills up the whole gray display area above the text. I have found no controls in any of the theme settings to do this, so I want to know if there’s a CSS modification, or any other way that this can be achieved. It really looks silly on our homepage to have the image only taking up half of its allotted space. The blog in question is http://crutch.me. Thank you for any help that you can offer.

  PS – I checked through the Soundcheck forum but found no posts addressing this issue – and I was unable to find a way to post a new topic there. I do have the premium package that should allow me to do that, but no new-post form or button was on the forum page, so I came here instead. If this post can be put into the Soundcheck area so that the template author can see and address it, that would be fine.

  Hi there,

  To post in the premium theme forum, you need to be the owner of the theme; since the purchase is on another user’s account, they can post there but you cannot. I highly recommend that you take this over to the premium themes forum, since (as you state) it will help for the developers to take a look at this. If you discuss this with the other user, I can help you to transfer the purchase of the theme to your account, or that user can post over there.
