Space above and below headings

Hi, I am a grad student whose job relies on my ability to ‘clean up’ our WP site at http://globalislam.center.ufl.edu/ . One of the main complaints I’m receiving is about the amount of space below the header and below headings, such that the page’s content is not viewable without scrolling. I don’t know anything about code, and I don’t know where to put code, so any advice on this would be very useful! I tried looking through things on the forum but couldn’t quite make sense of a lot of it. Thank you.

It looks as though the website that you require assistance with is a self-hosted WordPress.org site rather than WordPress.com.
