Spaces appear above and below photos
-
Often when I add photos, extra spaces appear above and or below the photo and sometimes after the paragraph which follows the photo. Often I can get rid of these by subsequently deleted the spaces and saving the file again. But sometimes the spaces just won’t go away. They often reappear when I re-edit and save the post.
My photos are linked from Photobucket. Much of my text is written directly in WordPress but some is also pasted in from various web and email sources. I usually try to manually strip out the extraneous html code, but it doesn’t fix the problem.
Any suggestions?
Here’s a post where I can’t get rid of the space: http://thebovine.wordpress.com/2009/06/01/u-s-cattle-being-fed-chicken-manure/

First off, go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and click “save changes.”
Open the post, change to HTML tab and right below your first paragraph you will find
<strong> </strong> <strong/>Remove all of those. Then within the code for the image, you will find a
<strong> and a </strong>and you need to remove those as well.Below the image code you will find another
</strong>which you need to remove. After those changes, click “update post” and wordpress should automatically correct the other errors in that post due to the change at settings > writing. -
Thank you, Sacredpath. That works beautifully. This problem has been annoying me for a while. I’m glad to finally have a solution.
